So you remember driving through Brownwood and stopping for gas or maybe a bite to eat at Underwood’s. Well, there is lot more to do and see in Brownwood these days than what you might rememer. The downtown area boasts antique shopping, wine tastings, spas and boutiques and a whole lot of Central Texas Small Town charm.
Out at Lake Brownwood, the undiscovered jewel of the Hill Country, you can enjoy boat and water craft rentals, restaurants, guided fishing trips, arrow head hunting, hiking the “Main Trail”, the magnificent State Park and Championship Golf overlooking it all.
That’s right. Championship Golf at a 5 Star Resort right on the shores of Lake Brownwood. Kings Point Cove Resort Development and its Hide Out golf club are making big things happen in the area. Chris Bounds Austin Texas, with Dos Mundos Developments , recently commented that “Kings Point Cove with its new amenities and truly Championship Golf make it one of the best values in the Hill Country for vacationing or a second home. The deals here won’t last forever.”
The new 10,000 square foot Club House overlooks the golf course from high atop a hill and boasts magnificent, panoramic views of the lake and the hill country. Enjoy a glass a wine from the 3,000 square foot deck while watching an amazing sunset. Or, dine at the restaurant on Chef inspired cuisine that is in a class of its own. The full service bar and lounge are in the middle of it all and only steps from the most well stop Pro Shop in the area. What a great, overall place for weddings, retreats and group functions. Wow.
Oh and the golf. Well the course is truly a master piece designed by Bill Johnson of Phoenix, and provides beautiful water features, bent grass greens and many stunning views of the Lake and the Texas Hill Country. Golf getaways are a favorite for many as the onsite Lodge has luxurious guest rooms as well as cabin rentals available to the public. Its all here. But make your plans early. The facilities can be booked up for weeks in advance.
